William Warren Milby was born November 8, 1865 in Mason City, Ill., the son of Riley Milby and Mary Ann Berry. He married Carrie B. Strauss, later marrying Maude Mullen.

He was the long-time editor and publisher of the Mason City Banner. At one time, his sister, Lida, was employed at the newspaper.

He died January 21, 1941, and is buried in the Mason City Cemetery.
